Home Assistant wall display without a login screen

Home Assistant has no anonymous mode and ignores tokens in the URL, so a wall screen lands on the login page. The supported fix is a dedicated wall user plus the trusted networks auth provider with login bypass. Questions

Does it work on my local network only?

Yes. The device can show any URL it can reach, including local addresses. Only the control channel goes through the cloud.

How do I avoid the Home Assistant login page?
